Here is a half page illustration for another article in Woman to Woman Magazine by Marion Winik about the lonesome drudgery of a stay-at-home spouse's housework. A twin would help!

This was a second article in the same winter issue of Woman to Woman about appreciating one's spouse (in this case, the wife being appreciated and showered in compliments every sabbath). I had fun with these and sort of stepped away from how I normally think of figures. Let me know what you think!

In other news, I just received the Zankel Scholarship from the Society of Illustrators, which will be paying most of my final year at MICA!! I can not begin to speak on this topic, but am extremely stoked.

I'm trying to work illustrations into this painting class I'm taking. It's a mix of references to Piero Della Francesca and I worked in bits and pieces from Winslow Homer's Blackboard, which is up there on the list of favorite paintings.

First, that is a fun alphabet for Hand Letters, which is turning out to be the thing I want to do most lately (many more to come). My close friend, Aimee Bowen, and I are working on pulling together and illustrating for two upcoming issues of our zine. We're still having some back-and-forths about the deets and waiting on a ton of guaranteed awesome work to come in from a handful of students and artists we love, but here's a tiny taste of what I have in the works for the Texas issue. By the way, the completed zines will be in black and white and handed out for free for as long as we can afford it.

So these were part of an assignment dealing with frustrations, mine being animals, clothing, working digitally, and also muting everything to the same level. After laying them to rest for awhile, I revisited them and made the colors more to my liking and I'm really happy with them now. Back to Baltimore in the morning (21 hour drive), and back to being inspired to do things.
